Week 6 | Receiving the All or Mostly - Clear to Start Coding and Refining the App details.

We had another insightful meeting with Darinka, and once again, her feedback helped shape our direction.
Second Surprise Presentation
This week we were randomly selected for the second time to present our team progress. This time no mistakes or stumbles, we came prepared and ready to present everything we’ve accomplished. The presentation went well according to our instructor, we were able to move forward with design and building the app.
Second Meeting With Darinka
This week, we had another insightful meeting with Darinka, and once again, her feedback helped shape our direction. One key takeaway was regarding our color palette—she advised us to incorporate warmer tones to evoke a sense of security and comfort, which is essential for users facing sensitive legal issues. This adjustment aligns with our core values of support and trustworthiness.
Darinka also shared valuable insights about the challenges women face when dealing with legal problems. She emphasized the importance of acknowledging their vulnerability, fears, and the stress of managing costs and deadlines. This feedback helped us to focus not only on the legal guidance our app provides but also on addressing the emotional and psychological barriers women face when navigating legal systems.
Pivot to Mobile-First Approach
We initially leaned toward developing a desktop version of the app, as our survey results showed that many people prefer handling legal matters on a desktop. However, after discussing this with Darinka, we realized that a mobile-first approach would be a better fit for our target audience. Women in these situations are likely to feel overwhelmed, and a mobile app, with its ability to provide information in more digestible, on-the-go formats, would be more user-friendly. It allows users to access crucial information without feeling bombarded by too much at once, which is vital for helping them feel in control.
Additional Progress
Currently our team is working diligently on ideation of the logo and wordmark designs. Many iterations have been developed, as a result we are that much closer to the final product, the logo. Further the wireframes for our app are coming together on figma, our design team is deep diving into the functionalities, components and overall structure of the app design. This is when our blog has been deployed and updated with our weekly progress, to display in the coming week. And lastly we are currently ideating about the concept and brainstorming the story beats for our commercial video that will be presented in December 2024.
